Mrs White is the Class Teacher in Hazel Class, EYFS. She also leads Art, PSHE and RE across school as well as Personal Development. She is very passionate about developing the different learning environments, ensuring our children are engaged each day and are able to build on their learning experiences throughout EYFS so they are ready to move onto Year 1 at the end of the academic year. Mrs White is also responsible for organising and designing the professional development of all staff and helps to oversee the interventions that take place across school.

 

Mrs Brocklehurst is Willow Class, Year 1, Class Teacher. One of her main aims is to ensure all children's smooth transition from EYFS into Year 1 where children begin to learn the National Curriculum. Mrs Brocklehurst also has responsibility for History, Science and Leading Key Stage 1.

Miss Taylor teaches in Maple Class, Year 2. She is an Early Career Teacher and works closely with Mrs Brocklehurst to ensure the children quickly settle well from Year 1 to Year 2. Miss Taylor also leads staff wellbeing.

Mr Glynn teaches Oak Class, Year 3 and is an Early Career Teacher. This year, he will shadow the Computing Subject Leader to develop his own subject leadership skills.

Mr Huntington teaches in Rowan Class, Year 4 and is an Early Career Teacher. He will shadow the Computing Subject Leader this academic year and works closely with his Mentor, Mrs Barnes.

Mrs Jones teaches Year 5, Beech Class. She has recently joined our school after completing her Early Career years at another local school. Mrs Jones leads Geography across school.

Mrs Barnes is the Class Teacher in Sycamore Class, Year 6. She has worked at Thornton Primary School for many years, previously as a Teaching Assistant and now as a Class Teacher. As well as teaching Sycamore Class, Mrs Barnes's responsibilities also include leading Maths and PE across school as well as the transition to High School for the Year 6 children.

Miss Gardner is the Class Teacher for The Orchard, our school's highly inclusive Key Stage 2 SEMH Inclusion Base. She works closely with our school's SENDCo to ensure this area of school is run successfully. She also leads English across our school.

Mrs Young is our school's SENDCo. This academic year, she is spending 3 days per week in that role and 2 days per week covering PPA/ECT time. Mrs Young is a very experienced teacher and is also responsible for leading Phonics, Music and French across school.

Much of our PE and sports are taught by Mr Sharp, our specialist PE Teacher. He teaches all children in school from Hazel to Sycamore Class and also leads two extracurricular sports clubs each week.
