The Orchard is our specialist Key Stage 2 Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) SEND Unit, providing eight highly specialised places for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The provision is designed to meet the needs of children who require intensive therapeutic support, specialist teaching and a personalised approach to learning in order to thrive both academically and emotionally.
At The Orchard, every pupil benefits from a bespoke curriculum delivered by experienced specialist staff who understand the complexities of SEMH needs. Through nurturing relationships, consistent routines and evidence-informed practice, we support pupils to develop emotional regulation, resilience, confidence and positive learning behaviours. Our provision combines high-quality teaching with targeted interventions, ensuring that pupils make strong progress towards their individual EHCP outcomes whilst remaining connected to the wider school community.
The Orchard offers exceptional facilities, including two dedicated sensory rooms that provide opportunities for regulation, reflection and therapeutic support throughout the school day. Pupils also have access to state-of-the-art resources and specialist learning environments designed to remove barriers to learning and promote engagement, independence and success.
Our vision is to create a safe, nurturing and aspirational environment where every child feels valued, understood and empowered to achieve their full potential. Through close partnership working with families, external agencies and therapeutic professionals, The Orchard provides a holistic approach that supports the academic, social and emotional development of every pupil in our care.
