In January 2019, we opened our doors to pre-school aged children. Initially, we had 4 wonderful children join us; we now have 12 children and continue to take enquiries on a weekly basis. All of the children have settled in fantastically well and are thriving! They all seem to relish being in 'big school' and are very well looked after by all our adults and the 'big children'.
Any child who has turned 3 during the previous school term can join our Pre-School. All parents/carers of 3 year old Pre-School aged children are entitled to 15 hours free child care each week. Some families will be entitled to 30 hours free child care. Please follow the link to check your eligibility: https://www3.lancashire.gov.uk/corporate/web/?siteid=2979&pageid=47605&e=e
All of our Pre-School children are in the EYFS setting with the Reception aged children. This means they all have access to a qualified teacher which ensures they make accelerated academic progress as well as developing socially and emotionally. Any child who attends Pre-School on Tuesday mornings will also have the chance to take part in learning in our award winning Forest School.
Many of the children who have joined our Pre-School have recently been offered a place in Reception for September 2019. This ensures a very smooth transition to school as they already know the class routines and are very familiar with the adults in Pre-School/Reception.
